It’s all about ethos.  When people are being interviewed, naturally and understandably, they are often nervous.  I often ask people perhaps the less obvious questions that might have nothing to do with work, just to find out about them as a person. 

We now hold a training week as part of the selection process. And the most important aspect is to be able to see someone's personality and make sure they share our enthusiasm.

We've also spent a lot of time working with our managers to ensure that they understand the business.
